No one injured in bomb explosion at Ukrainian Jewish activist's office in Kyiv
An explosion in Kyiv near the office of prominent Ukrainian businessman Vadym Rabynovych, who is also co-chairman of the European Jewish Parliament and president of the Pan-Ukrainian Jewish Congress, did not cause fatalities or injuries, but Rabynovych's Lexus was damaged, Kyiv police have reported.
Reports said earlier that the explosion occurred at 1536. Ex-editor of the Stolichniye Novosti newspaper Volodymyr Katsman said it was an attempt on Rabynovych's life and that the bomb had been thrown at the car as Rabynovych was leaving the courtyard.
Rabynovych said on February 18 that officials have been trying to take away his ownership rights to the Jewish New One television channel and that he filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General's Office. The JN1 is an independent private channel, established by two Ukrainian businessmen Igor Kolomoisky and Rabynovych, both of them philanthropists well known in the international Jewish community.
