Putin gives medals to Kolesnichenko Kivalov, Boldyrev, Tsariov, Shentsev for 'supporting Russian language'
Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree awarding the Medal of Pushkin to a number of Ukrainian politicians.
Decree No. 101 of February 9, 2013, which was published on the Web site of the Russian president, notes that Russian state awards were given to Regions Party MPs Serhiy Kivalov, Vadym Kolesnichenko, Oleh Tsariov and Dmytro Shentsev, and former MP Yuriy Boldyrev.
The abovementioned politicians were awarded for their "significant contribution to preserving and promoting the Russian language and culture abroad."
