Azarov hopes issue of personal voting in parliament will be quickly resolved
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said he hopes that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will soon begin effective work and resolve the issue of personal voting.
"Perhaps, it's hard to find such a parliament in the world that would have spent two-and-a-half months talking about buttons. The 'button issue' is now the most important one for them. Is it possible to find a parliament that, in a crisis and amid enormous challenges facing the country, would focus its efforts on what mechanism of buttons should be used in order to realize the constitutional right of people's deputies to vote in the session hall?" he said at a meeting with representatives of IT companies in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"We hope that this issue will soon be resolved and that they will move from these button issues to topical issues of concern to our society," Azarov said.
As reported, the second session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the seventh convocation did not open on February 5 due to the fact that the opposition blocked the parliament's rostrum and presidium, demanding the introduction of personal voting.
