Journalist throws sauerkraut at Zhirinovsky in Kyiv
A Ukrainian female journalist threw some sauerkraut at the leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) and its faction in Russia's State Duma, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, during a press conference in Kyiv.
The woman was shouting "Ukrainophobe! Chauvinists, get out of Ukraine!" an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
Zhirinovsky was unhurt. His guards quickly took the woman and her supporters out of the press center.
"She was paid for this, she was told to come in and disrupt the press conference," the Russian politician said.
After the incident the press conference resumed.
