Liovochkin: Yanukovych initiates extended government meeting in February to discuss program of government's activity

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has called for the holding of an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers in February 2013 to consider the program of the government's activity, Head of Ukraine's Presidential Administration Serhiy Liovochkin has said in an exclusive interview with Interfax-Ukraine.

"The president has initiated the holding in late February of an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, involving leading experts and economists, where the government will present the program of its activity. Since the current government, in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine, terminates its powers when there is a newly elected president, Viktor Yanukovych is demanding that the Cabinet of Ministers draw up a plan of its work for this period, i.e. until 2015," he said.

Liovochkin said that the president had demanded that the government strictly implement the tasks assigned, particularly the economic reform program for 2010-2014 and relevant social initiatives initiated by the president.
