President nominates NBU Deputy Head Sorkin for post of central bank governor
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has proposed the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, to appoint Ihor Sorkin as governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
Sorkin has been working as acting governor of the central bank since late December 2012.
A relevant draft document, No. 1219, was registered in parliament on Wednesday.
