Batkivschyna: Banners calling for Tymoshenko's release appear on Eiffel Tower and central square in Prague
Representatives of the Kyiv branch of the Batkivschyna Party have hung banners calling for the release of Ukrainian opposition leader and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in Paris, Prague and Amsterdam, reads a statement posted on the party's Web site.
In the midst of New Year holidays, a banner with the inscription "No political repression - freedom for Yulia" appeared on the central square in Prague.
In addition, a banner with Tymoshenko was unfurled on the Eiffel Tower in Paris and on the Dam Square in Amsterdam.
"The Kyiv branch of the party called on all residents of Kyiv who leave Ukraine to support the initiative and promised to give banners with Yulia Tymoshenko to everyone who turns to the branch," reads the statement.
As reported, at the end of November 2012, the Rome mayor's office put up a portrait of jailed former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko on the facade of its headquarters as a sign of support for her.
