152 passengers to arrive in Kyiv from New York on Tuesday, says Foreign Ministry
AeroSvit airline's aircraft with 152 passengers on board has taken off from New York on January 7 and is expected to land in Kyiv on January 8.
According to the Information Policy Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine, AeroSvit's regular flight from New York to Kyiv was cancelled on January 6 for technical reasons.
The flight was put off as the aircraft arrived with a seven-hour delay from Kyiv. Ukraine's Consulate General took necessary measures to transport all of the flight's passengers to Ukraine on January 8.
According to the ministry, the same situation occurred at Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, where 88 passengers, including 39 Ukrainians, had to stay longer due to the cancellation of AeroSvit's flights.
Ukraine's Embassy in Hungary did its utmost to reregister the passengers' tickets to other airlines' flights.
On January 7, all of the Ukrainian passengers departed from Budapest to Ukraine.
