EU Delegation to Ukraine: No new EU rules on currency regulations
The Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine has said that no new rules on the EU requirement to declare cash while entering or leaving the EU have been adopted since January 1, 2013.
"The EU Delegation to Ukraine would like to clarify the information recently published by some Ukrainian media about the new EU requirement to declare cash while entering or leaving the EU. This information is not precise, namely that cash amounts in excess of 10,000 euros must be declared as of January 1, 2013," reads the statement.
The delegation said that this regulation (based on the EU Regulation 1889/2005) is already in force since June 15, 2007 and is applicable to all travelers leaving or entering the European Union.
"No new rules have been in place since January 1, 2013," reads the statement.
