Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree to grant Russian citizenship to French actor Gerard Depardieu, says a report posted on the Kremlin website on Thursday.
"Pursuant to item "a" of Article 89 of the Russian constitution, to grant the request for Russian naturalization of Depardieu Gerard Xavier born in France in 1948," the decree runs.
