Ukrainians say parliamentary elections were main event in 2012, some remember brawls in Rada
Ukrainians think that the main political event in the country in 2012 were the parliamentary elections, according to the poll conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation and the sociology service of Razumkov Center.
According to the poll, 56.6% respondents said that the parliamentary elections were the main event in the country in 2012, while 12% think that the Euro 2012 European Football Championship was the main event of the year. Some 4.7% respondents said that the imprisonment of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko was the most important political event, 1.6% mentioned the adoption of the language policy law, while 1% of Ukrainians think that brawls in the Verkhovna Rada were the key event in the country's political life in 2012.
Some 87% respondents said they were not disappointed by the politicians they elected to the parliament.
The poll was conducted on December 21-24, 2012.
The parliamentary elections in Ukraine were held on October 28, 2012.
