Ukrainian president indignant at situation with Hyundai trains on Ukrainian railways
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has criticized the decision to buy foreign high-speed electric trains for Ukraine.
"With the own high-speed train prototype why the funds were sent to buy imported products and not to start own mass production?" the president said at a meeting of the Council of Regions in Kyiv on Tuesday.
He noted that the foreign trains bought abroad are not adapted to the exploitation in the weather conditions in Ukraine.
"What was not unclear for us? Was it unclear that the trains are not adapted to our exploitation conditions? Not taking into account the interests of our goods production," the president said.
