Court refuses to release Lutsenko for health reasons

Mena district court in Chernihiv region has refused to release former Interior Minister Yuriy Lutsenko from prison for health reasons.

Judge Oleksandr Savchenko, who presided in the trial, announced this ruling at the court meeting at the penal colony on Monday. Thus, the court dismissed a request of Lutsenko's defense lawyers Oleksiy Bahanets, Ihor Balyk and Ihor Fomin.

The defense team can appeal this ruling within seven days.
