President appoints Arbuzov as Ukraine's first vice premier
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has signed a decree appointing Serhiy Arbuzov as Ukraine's first deputy prime minister.
The decree was posted on the official Web site of the head of state on Monday.
According to Article 85 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the head of the National Bank of Ukraine is dismissed by parliament under a motion from the president. Arbuzov has served as NBU governor since December 23, 2010. The document on his dismissal from this post has not yet been published.
The NBU's press service promised to clarify the situation regarding prospects for the fulfillment of duties of the central bank's governor.
Earlier reports on Monday said that Head of the NBU Council Ihor Prasolov had been appointed minister of economic development and trade.
