Tigipko: European integration more advantageous to Ukraine than accession to Customs Union
European integration is more advantageous to Ukraine than accession to the Customs Union, MP Sergiy Tigipko has said.
"European integration remains the main European course for us," he said live on the Inter TV Channel late on Friday.
Tigipko expressed hope that "in February, or at most in March," Ukraine will have a simplified visa regime with the EU.
"I hope that we will sign the association agreement [with the EU] in November. This will immediately give us a free trade area with the EU," he said.
Tigipko noted that this is more advantageous to Ukraine in the medium term in economic terms.
He said that "if we started an active movement into the Customs Union, we would have huge problems in the country."
