Constitution of Ukraine has to be passed by parliament, says Rada chairman
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, Volodymyr Rybak has said that the parliament should pass a new wording of the constitution.
"I think it's impossible to adopt the constitution at a referendum. The Constitution of Ukraine has to be passed by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine," he said in an interview on Wednesday, according to the parliamentary press service.
According to Rybak, work on amending the main law is a very complicated process, which should involve experts. He also said that the constitutional process requires public discussions and consideration by profile parliamentary committees.
Rybak also did not rule out that some issues could be submitted to the referendum.
