MPs block rostrum, election of parliamentary chairman postponed again
Members of the oppositional parties and the Regions Party have blocked the rostrum of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament. Brawls arose between some of the people's deputies.
Some of the deputies got over the rostrum and stood on the table of the presidium.
Regions Party MP Oleksandr Yefremov, who chairs the sitting on Thursday, had to announce a thirty-minute break in the sitting.
The members of the oppositional factions were outraged by the fact that some members of the ruling party used their colleagues' voting cards during a vote.
Despite the opposition's protest, Yefremov invited Volodymyr Rybak (Regions Party), who is the only candidate for the position of the parliamentary chairman, to the rostrum to deliver a speech. However, Rybak did not manage to deliver his speech, as the parliamentarians started to brawl and blocked the presidium.
