Rada announces 30-minute break to test voting system
Regions Party MP Oleksandr Yefremov, who is presiding at the opening session of the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation, has said that time is needed to test the Rada electronic voting system and that before that, MPs will not be able to vote using this system.
An Interfax-Ukraine reporter said that Batkivschyna faction deputy Andriy Kozhemiakin had earlier demanded that a break be announced to resolve the issue of the powers of Andriy and Oleksandr Topalov. Since Yefremov refused to announce the break, the opposition deputies blocked the parliament's presidium and rostrum.
The situation was not resolved for 15-20 minutes, as Yefremov refused to announce a break and opposition lawmakers continued to block the parliament's work, but UDAR Party faction leader Vitali Klitschko then approached Yefremov on the presidium. After a few minutes of conversation, Yefremov announced a 30-minute technical break.
