Yatseniuk says Berkut riot police obstructed activity of MPs
The head of the faction of the Batkivschyna United Opposition, Arseniy Yatseniuk, has said that Berkut riot police officers obstructed the work of people's deputies.
"Who has just called up the Berkut special police unit to the premises of the Verkhovna Rada? Who, contrary to the laws and the Constitution of Ukraine, started beating up people's deputies of Ukraine, preventing them from fulfilling their constitutional duties? This is the access of the people of Ukraine to the premises of the Verkhovna Rada. Who is responsible for that?" he said at an evening meeting of parliament on Wednesday.
MP Oleksandr Yefremov, who is presiding at the meeting, in turn, said: "Those who are in the presidium had nothing to do with this issue."
