Kyiv welcomes decision to hold EU-Ukraine Summit in early 2013, says Yanukovych
Kyiv welcomes a decision to hold the EU-Ukraine Summit in early 2013, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.
"It's a long-expected step of the European Union and the European Commission. Of course we welcome it," he told journalists in Bangalore on Wednesday.
As to practical steps, the president noted that the Ukrainian side should work on the preparations for the EU-Ukraine Summit, "which will definitely stimulate the movement towards European integration."
As reported, on December 11, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton in a conversation with Acting Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov discussed the EU-Ukraine Summit scheduled for the beginning of 2013.
