Parliamentary majority's opinion to be considered while forming new government, says Yanukovych

Discussion on the membership of the new government of Ukraine is still in progress, and the position of the parliamentary majority will be taken into account while forming the new government, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said.

"Discussions about the new government are still in progress. I have not completely felt the mood in the faction. In addition, a new majority of the Verkhovna Rada has to be formed and we will take into account its opinion," the president told journalists in New Delhi on Monday.

Yanukovych said that he has discussed the issue with Acting Premier Mykola Azarov.

"He told me that while forming the membership of the new government, he will take into account the position of the parliamentary majority," the president said.

As reported, on December 9, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych submitted Mykola Azarov's candidacy for the premiership.

The newly elected Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation will hold its first sitting on December 12.
