The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the 6th convocation has ended its work.
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Acting Premier Mykola Azarov were absent from a ceremony to mark the completion of the parliament's work, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported.
Parliamentary Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn in his speech said that the new parliament would begin its work next week.
"Let this be good news for the people, and the country depends on us - experienced lawmakers, who have been through various political battles, as well as the MPs of the 'new wave', who will take their oaths for the first time," Lytvyn said.
The Verkhovna Rada of the 7th convocation will convene for its first session at 1000 on December 12.
