Lytvyn, Yefremov say they do not aspire to become speaker in new parliament
Head of the Verkhovna Rada of the sixth convocation Volodymyr Lytvyn has said he will work in the new parliament as an ordinary lawmaker, while Party of Regions Faction Leader Oleksandr Yefremov also denied any ambitions to take this post.
"I will simply be a people's deputy. I said that I would work in the Committee on Education and Science, as an ordinary member of the committee. Time will show what will happen next," Lytvyn told reporters on Monday.
The leader of the Party of Regions faction for his part said he did not aspire to the post of the next parliamentary chairman.
"I have never looked for this job, never asked for it and I have no ambition to be the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada," Yefremov said.
