Rada to decide on new government after election of parliamentary leadership, says Lytvyn
The Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, is to decide on the new membership of the Cabinet of Ministers as soon as the new presidium of the parliament of the new convocation is formed, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn has said.
"It is obvious that a decision on a new membership of the Cabinet of Ministers will be considered as soon as the presidium of the Verkhovna Rada is formed, or at least when the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada is elected," Lytvyn said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
"We will do this on December 13 or 14, if we hold a calm and balanced dialogue," he said.
Asked about candidates for the position of the Ukrainian premier, Lytvyn said: "I don't know anything about candidates, as no one has consulted with me on the issue. I think the issue should be discussed with the future chairman of the Verkhovna Rada."
