UDAR initiating restriction on free flights, railway tickets for MPs
The UDAR Party thinks that the number of travel benefits for Ukrainian people's deputies should be limited, the party's leader Vitali Klitschko has said.
According to him, restrictions should be introduced on budget-funded flights and railway tickets for people's deputies, and "groundless preferences" should be canceled.
According to UDAR, in 2012 MPs temporarily gave up benefits and saved some UAH 55 million of budget funds.
"If this refusal wasn't temporary, Ukraine could save hundreds of millions of hryvnias for social payments," UDAR said.
"Deputies and officials should live according to the same rules as all other citizens of the country, who actually elect these deputies. And we hope that our opposition colleagues will support UDAR's initiative," Klitschko said.
