Georgia's ex-Defense Minister Okruashvili arrested
Former Georgian Defense Minister Irakly Okruashvili was detained last night, Justice Minister Teya Tsulukiani said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
"Irakly Okruashvili was detained immediately after he crossed the border as a person wanted by the Prosecutor's Office and was placed in the Gldani prison in Tbilisi. In my opinion, he returned to Georgia because he seeks to prove inside the country that he is not guilty. But we ought to remember that he was effectively banished from Georgia, was forcibly put on a plane," she said.
