Ukrainians demand introduction of individual voting system at new parliament, says Tomenko
The majority of Ukrainians think that people's deputies should vote individually in the parliament, Verkhovna Rada Deputy Chairman and one of the leaders of the Batkivschyna United Opposition Mykola Tomenko has said in an interview with Channel 5.
"Over the election campaign I did not see any Ukrainians demanding to preserve button pushing and voting for yourself and your neighbor," the politician said.
Tomenko added that the opposition would promote this demand from the beginning of its work in the Verkhovna Rada of the seventh convocation, as it was expressed by 99% of Ukrainian citizens.
"I mean not only voters of Batkivschyna, UDAR, or Svoboda, I also mean people that voted for the Regions Party, the Communists, and the parties that failed to get into parliament," he said.
