Yanukovych: Programs to combat infectious diseases should be funded in full
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that it is necessary to fully finance programs for the treatment of patients with HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and hepatitis, as well as to prevent the spread of infectious diseases.
"In order to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and ensure affordable health care for citizens, all patients should receive help on time. The authorities should take measures to prevent the interruption of the treatment process, and money cannot be saved on this," the presidential press service quoted Yanukovych as saying on Tuesday.
He also said the state should focus its efforts on the implementation of key reforms, including health reform, an important task of which is not only treatment, but also prevention and early detection of diseases.
