Yanukovych: International observers' reports on Rada election coincide with findings of authorities
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych has said that the findings of international election observers about the elections to the Verkhovna Rada are very similar to the conclusions of the authorities.
"These are not only my conclusions. These are primarily the findings of international observers. And they coincide on many issues with our findings that there were shortcomings, I would say, natural flaws that usually occur after an election. But there were positive aspects as well," Yanukovych told reporters in Nicosia on Friday.
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine should look into the recent problems that have arisen during the count of votes in several single-member districts, the president stressed.
Moreover, Yanukovych said he believed that the new parliament should amend the law on parliamentary elections, taking into account the shortcomings of this election.
