Gas from Europe is cheaper for Ukraine than Russian gas - Boiko
Gas, which Ukraine has started receiving in reverse from Europe, is significantly cheaper than Russian gas, Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko told journalists in Kyiv on Wednesday.
"Gas [from Europe] is significantly cheaper than what we receive through the contract with Gazprom," he said.
Boiko did not specify total volume contracted by Ukraine but said that a contract will be signed in 2013 for significant amounts of gas. "We receive the volumes [gas] according to contract. Next year's contract will be bigger," he said.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov earlier said that Ukraine started reverse supply of gas from Europe in November.
