Kuchma: Melnychenko returned to Ukraine according to certain scenario
Ukraine's second president (1994-2005), Leonid Kuchma, has said that former State Guard Department Major Mykola Melnychenko's return to Ukraine was not accidental.
"I'm not waiting on anyone, and you see that I'm far from being in power. And I don't know what's going on there. So what kind of scenario was developed? There's a certain scenario. Let's wait and see," he told journalists in Kyiv on Tuesday during his visit to the National Aviation University (NAU), when asked why, in his opinion, Melnychenko decided to return to Ukraine now.
Kuchma also added: "It does not happen so that a person is first taken out and then brought in. Why?"
He also expressed his surprise: "I just wonder that we're making a big fuss over the person who deserves a proper assessment."
