OSCE mission says Ukrainian courts rejected most complaints about violations of election process
On occasion Ukrainian courts have refused to consider complaints about violations of the election process for groundless reasons, Audrey Glover, the head of the OSCE/ODIHR long-term election observation mission, has said.
At a press conference in Kyiv on Monday she said that Ukrainian courts received many complaints, but "the majority of the complaints were rejected by courts, sometimes due to groundless reasons or due to the improper interpretation of the legislation," she said.
In turn, Walburga Habsburg Douglas, the special coordinator leading the short-term OSCE observer mission and head of the OSCE PA delegation, said that observers would stay in Ukraine to monitor the process of counting votes at the elections, which, according to her, are not transparent.
She added that the OSCE mission would also watch the process of forming a new parliament in Ukraine.
