Ukrainian government postpones population census until 2013
The Cabinet of Ministers on Thursday approved a resolution to postpone the holding of a nationwide population census in Ukraine from 2012 until 2013, the press service of the Ukrainian Economic Development and Trade Ministry has reported.
The main purpose of the document is to ensure the proper completion of preparatory work and the creation of the necessary logistics for holding the Ukrainian population census.
"Problems in conducting the work on the preparation and holding of the census in 2012 are related to the lack in 2008-2012 of funding from the general fund of the state budget (only 41.4% funded) for preparations for the Ukrainian population census," reads the report.
