Five million citizens get unofficial salary in Ukraine, State Entrepreneurship Service says
Over five million employed Ukrainians receive unofficial salaries in Ukraine, Head of the State Service for Regulatory Policy and Development of Entrepreneurship Mykhailo Brodsky said at a briefing on Wednesday.
According to him, the overall total of unofficially paid salaries exceeds UAH 145 billion.
"People who receive a salary in envelopes are socially unprotected… We want to influence and encourage the local authorities to explain to the employed population that they shouldn't get a job with wages in envelopes. There are five million such citizens in Ukraine, and over UAH 145 billion in salaries are paid unofficially," he said.
