Kyiv to host events on October 28 marking day of Ukraine's liberation from Nazi invaders
Kyiv will host events on Independence Square and Khreschatyk on Sunday, October 28, to mark the 68th anniversary of Ukraine's liberation from German occupation.
On October 28, flowers will be laid at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the monument to three times Hero of the Soviet Union, Marshal Ivan Kozhedub, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported on Monday.
From 1000 to 1900, the songs of the Great Patriotic War (Second World War) will be played on the main streets and squares of the city.
Veterans will be able to eat "soldier's porridge" on Independence Square.
In addition, it will also be possible to see an exhibition of military equipment from World War II on Instytutska and Khreschatyk streets and Independence Square.
The elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine are scheduled for Sunday, October 28.
