Duma ratifies Russian-Ukrainian agreement on border control
The State Duma of Russia ratified on Friday an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on cooperation in joint controls over people, vehicles and goods on the Russian-Ukrainian border.
The agreement was signed in Donetsk on October 18, 2011. It establishes the principles of cooperation in joint control of persons and vehicles crossing the Russian-Ukrainian border, as well as controls over the movement of goods across the border.
The document says that such monitoring is carried out on motor road and railway border crossings points, and can also be carried out during the movement of passenger trains between border crossing points.
