EU Council extends sanctions against Belarus for another year
The Council of the European Union has decided to extend EU sanctions against Belarus until October 31, 2013.
Not all political prisoners have been released and none of the political prisoners has been rehabilitated, amid the absence of any improvements in the sphere of human rights, the rule of law and democratic principles, the council said. There were all factors underlying the decision passed at a session in Luxemburg on Monday.
