Tymoshenko allowed to make phone call as exception, says penitentiary service
The administration of the Kachanivska Penal Colony in Kharkiv has made an exception and allowed former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko, who is undergoing treatment at Central Clinical Hospital No. 5, to make a phone call.
"The convict talked to two people," the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine said on Monday.
The statement also reads that convicts have a right to make phone calls at a special room in prison via a fixed line phone. However, such a possibility is not foreseen for hospitalized convicts.
"Due to this fact, Tymoshenko talked to two people using mobile communications," reads the statement.
