CEC hopes video surveillance system at polling stations to be ready by October 17
Members of the Central Election Commission (CEC) hope that the video surveillance system at the polling stations will be completely ready by October 17.
"Today we can say that around 85% of works is completed and the CEC can be sure that all works will be finished by October 17 – the deadline determined by the legislation," member of the CEC Mykhailo Okhendovsky said on Thursday during a presentation of the video surveillance system at a polling station in Kyiv.
He added that in the near future the CEC will approve the procedure of further use of elements of the video surveillance system after the elections.
"I am not ready to speak about our ideas on further use of these complexes, but trust me, they will serve the Ukrainian society," he said.
The parliamentary elections will be held in Ukraine on October 28, 2012.
