Salamatin: Constructive partnership with NATO important to Ukraine
Constructive partnership with NATO is important to Ukraine, Defense Minister Dmytro Salamatin has said.
"Participation in NATO-led peacekeeping operations will remain a priority area for Ukraine. The Hetman Sahaidachny frigate will be involved in the Ocean Shield anti-piracy operation in 2013," he said at a meeting with NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow.
Salamatin said that cooperation would also continue as part of other existing projects, including the professionalization of the Armed Forces and the disposal of ammunition and small arms.
The sides also outlined further measures to support the military and political dialog.
