Batkivschyna Party wants to hold congress on October 14
The Batkivschyna united opposition will hold a congress on October 14 to consider the possibility of withdrawing from the election campaign a number of candidates for MP running on the electoral list and in single-member constituencies, BYT-Batkivschyna MP Andriy Shevchenko has said.
"Batkivschyna will hold a congress on October 14. It is planned to remove certain candidates from the list and certain candidates running in single-member constituencies," Shevchenko wrote on his page on Twitter.
He told the Ukrainska Pravda online newspaper that by law it is possible to withdraw candidates by October 16.
"The logic is simple: October 14 is the deadline for us to see and make changes to the list of candidates. Therefore, if such a decision is taken, it will be approved by the congress," Shevchenko said.
