Tymoshenko feeling worse after Friday protest, says lawyer
Former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko is feeling worse after the protest she staged at the hospital in response to the ban on her meeting with Ukrainian opposition politicians, the ex-premier's lawyer Oleksandr Plakhotniuk has said.
"Her health state has worsened…" Tymoshenko's lawyer told journalists on Monday, according to Channel 5.
He noted that on September 28 Tymoshenko lay down on a concrete floor in protest after the administration of the Kachanivska Correctional Facility in Kharkiv forbade her to meet with opposition leaders Arseniy Yatseniuk, Oleksandr Turchynov and Hryhoriy Nemyria.
On September 29, the Web site of the Batkivschyna Party posted a video recording of Tymoshenko's protest, which was probably shot in a hospital by her allies or defense counsels. In this video, Tymoshenko urged Ukrainians to overthrow the mafia, "which rules Ukraine and ignores human rights," at the election.
