Cox, Kwasniewski to report on results of observation mission's work on Tymoshenko, Lutsenko cases on October 2

Former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski and ex-president of the European Parliament Pat Cox will report on the results of their work as observers at court proceedings on cases against former Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko and former Interior Minister of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko on October 2 at the European Parliament.

The report will be presented during the Conference of Presidents of the European Parliament with the participation of the EP President Martin Schulz and leaders of political groups, an Interfax-Ukraine reporter learned from the European Parliament in Brussels on Friday.

Kwasniewski and Cox were appointed as EP's observers in the Tymoshenko case on June 11, 2012. Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov and EP President Martin Schulz agreed on this during a meeting.

Later on, the tasks of the mission were expanded to observing the cases against Lutsenko and former Acting Defense Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Ivaschenko, as well as monitoring of the preparations for the parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
