Tariffs for utilities services in Kyiv not to increase until end of 2012, says Kyiv official
Tariffs for utilities services in Kyiv will not be increased until the end of this year, Head of Kyiv City Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.
"I can say for sure that the tariffs in Kyiv will not rise until December 31," he told reporters on Thursday.
He noted that the cabinet had allocated UAH 3 billion to Kyiv city to compensate for the difference in tariffs and actual costs for utilities services, adding the present tariffs are not at an economically justifiable level.
He also said that the administration is paying Kyivenergo and Kyivvodokanal the difference in the tariffs.
"Thus, we won't owe practically anything to the energy supply companies at the end of November," Popov said.
