PlayCity plans to launch updated register of gambling-addicted individuals in Jan 2026 – Head
The updated register of individuals whose participation in gambling is restricted, which currently includes around 12,000 people, is planned to be launched in January 2026, Hennadiy Novikov, head of Ukraine's State Agency for the Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (PlayCity), told Interfax-Ukraine in an interview.
"We are currently accepting the completed work. Based on the results of this development, if everything functions properly, we plan to launch the updated register in January. Taking into account the experience of the previous register, we expect it to be user-friendly and that organizers will actually use it," Novikov said.
According to him, the updated register will not be public, as it contains personal data of individuals who have restricted their participation voluntarily, by court decision, or at the request of close relatives.
Novikov said that access will be available only to organizers, who are obligated to prevent such individuals from participating.
Separately, the head of PlayCity said that the next task will be organizing a convenient application submission process and actively informing citizens about the possibility of using the register.
As reported, in October the State Agency for the Regulation of Gambling and Lottery Business PlayCity announced a tender to create a Register of Persons Restricted from Participating in Gambling, with an expected cost of up to UAH 1.7 million. Only one company – PF Escape – took part in the tender and won with a bid of UAH 1.155 million.
