F-16s destroy vast majority of Russian missiles fired at night over Ukraine – Shmyhal

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal has discussed with Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson progress in the issue of supplying Ukraine with Gripen aircraft.

"We are preparing to begin training Ukrainian pilots and technical personnel," Shmyhal wrote in X on Wednesday following the conversation.

He also reported on the massive Russian air attack on Tuesday night and that F-16 aircraft destroyed the vast majority of 35 enemy cruise missiles.

"I noted Sweden’s significant contribution to strengthening our aviation capabilities. Grateful for this! We look forward to further close cooperation in this area. Sweden plans to announce a new package of support for Ukraine in the field of air defense in the near future," Shmyhal added.
