Ukrainian Red Cross volunteers assist firefighters during Kyiv fire response
A rapid response unit of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society (URCS) assisted Kyiv's State Emergency Service (SES) firefighters in extinguishing a fire on the fourth floor of a residential building in the Pechersky district, the URCS reported on Facebook.
Volunteers were on standby at the scene to provide first aid if needed. They also set up a relief station where firefighters could get hot drinks, water, and snacks.
According to the SES of Ukraine, over 100 firefighters were involved in extinguishing the blaze, which was fully contained. No casualties or injuries were reported.
The building's address was not disclosed, but photos indicate it was a multi-story pre–World War I structure on Shota Rustaveli Street. The fire broke out on the upper floors, in an extension built around the 1950s, according to preliminary observations.
