Zelenskyy: Trump eligible for Nobel Peace Prize if he stops Putin
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has suggested that if US President Donald Trump manages to stop Vladimir Putin and bring him to the negotiating table, he could be nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize again next year.
"We would be very happy to nominate President Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year if he does this, because only he can. If he puts pressure on and stops Putin, if he brings Putin to the table for dialogue, negotiations, if he stops these killings," he said in an interview with Fox News.
The president believes that the ceasefire is not "the real end of the war," but it is the biggest step towards the end.
"So I think that if President Trump does it within this year, and of course we want it as soon as possible, because we want to stop this war and have always supported President Trump. If he does it, I hope so, and may God bless him so that he can do it. Of course, in that case, we will nominate him and proudly congratulate him," Zelenskyy said.
