President signs law on payments of UAH 50,000 to defenders released from captivity
Defenders released from Russian captivity will receive monthly payments of UAH 50,000.
According to the website of the Verkhovna Rada, the president signed a law on amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding payments to servicemen released from captivity who have diseases that require long-term inpatient treatment.
Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko thanked the MPs and the president in a message on Telegram, noting that monetary support will be provided during the first three months of rehabilitation.
"Previously, such payments were received only by those who suffered injuries, contusions or mutilations. However, many servicemen after captivity also have serious illnesses that require long-term treatment," she explained.
As reported, draft law No. 13627 on amendments to certain laws on payments to servicemen released from captivity who have illnesses that require long-term inpatient treatment was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on August 14.
