CCD denies reports of Russian forces in central Kupyansk
Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Andriy Kovalenko has denied reports of the presence of Russian units in Kupyansk.
"As of now, there are no Russians in the center of Kupyansk. Heavy fighting for Kupyansk continues," Kovalenko said on Telegram.
As reported, on Wednesday, the OSINT project DeepState reported on the advancement of Russian occupiers within the city limits of Kupyansk, but there was no mention of penetration into the city center.
On Tuesday, the head of the Kupyansk district military administration, Andriy Kanashevych, said about 800 civilians currently remain in the city, and evacuation is underway. According to him, critical infrastructure in the city is not working, and it is impossible to restore it in the near future.
